My Campaign
Every year, over 10 million girls are forced into child marriages in over 100 countries.
I am Sami Ahmed; the 20 year old daughter of a child bride. With the Justice for Saira campaign I want to challenge the tradition of child marriage. My mother Saira was just 13 years old when she married to a pedophile. Child brides often suffer sexual abuse, but my mum escaped with me as her newborn child. Not everyone is this lucky, however.
Justice For Saira stands for hope – so rarely associated with child marriage. There is hope that together we can increase understanding of child marriage, because every girl deserves an education, and the freedom to choose love for themselves.
